My Approach

My approach to transforming employee resource groups into spaces of refuge is grounded in peer-reviewed research and best practices in the areas of belonging, team dynamics, negotiation, mediation, and discrimination.

Additionally, I draw from and name the thought leadership of BIPOC, queer, and disabled activists, organizers, and artists who offer lessons on sharing power with others and working together in service of collective liberation - important lessons for employees working together to bring a shared vision to life in ways that are sustainable and affirming for everyone.

Last, but not least, I intentionally incorporate practices that ground the body and still the mind to encourage collaboration from a place of presence instead of stress and anxiety. I learned the power of “drop-ins” - dropping into the body through meditation, movement, and sound - through my training to become a yoga teacher. I have continued these mindfulness practices on my own and in community. Committed to a lifelong study and practice of mindfulness, I intentionally weave accessible and supportive practices into this work.
